Special Services at Home

Special Services at Home is a program funded by the Ministry of Community, Family and Children's Services. Funding is provided directly to families through this program to purchase the services of an independent Worker to provide Developmental and Relief support to a relative who has an intellectual disability living at home.

Need Help?

As a service to families Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley is able to,

  • Assist families to fill out the Special Services at Home Application and Renewal forms.
  • Assist family to advocate for services
  • Assist families to access resumes from the Registry kept at Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley's head office.
  • Assist with recruitment and sitting in on interviews with the family
  • Assist families to develop an agreement/contract between the worker and themselves
  • Assist the family to provide an orientation and schedule for the worker
  • Serve as a resource to the worker and family

Registry of Resumes

Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley maintains a registry of resumes of persons seeking to become a Special Services at Home Worker. It is available at the Main office at 175 Pembroke Street East for you to view and copy resumes from. Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley does not screen nor endorse any person who has submitted a resume to be kept in the Registry. Persons that are hired by families to provide support are not employees of Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley.  Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley is not responsible for any aspect of the recruitment, selection, hiring, supervision and payment of the person selected by the family.
