Community Participation Supports are designed to:
(a)
provide access to employment.
(b)
assist people to participate in the community and to develop personal
competence in
accessing the community through
volunteerism, leisure and recreation activities and
participation in social groups and
events.
The
Association offers community employment supports to people who may have been excluded from the
competitive workforce and assists them with employment on a real work
for real pay basis. This program is designed to assist people to acquire and
maintain meaningful employment in a dignified manner. Support is
provided initially to help the individual and employer through the
development and implementation of employment. The emphasis is on
building skills and relationships in the work environment.
Community
access supports provide supported opportunities for individuals to enhance their
involvement and contribution to the community through active participation in a variety of community
activities, volunteerism and non-competitive work experiences. The Association
offers in-home supports and other out-reach services to help people
acquire the skills and assistance they need to be active and successful
in their neighbourhood and community.
The Association offers life skills programs for a small group of adults.
