Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley Opens Dooors to Community Partnerships in Residential Housing and the Community Responds
On November 28, Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley (CLUOV) hosted a wine and cheese social event for housing developers, landlords and property owners. The topic was building inclusive housing that would include individuals with intellectual disabilities.
CLUOV owns several group home properties and is selling them on order to better meet the individual deeds of the people supported through our agency. To do that successfully, we engaged the community to keep us in mind when rental opportunities arise in developments that they own, manage or promote.
Individuals with intellectual disabilities offer long-term rental tenancy, and the needs are throughout the Upper Ottawa Valley region.
